Jerry Cadagan and others in the environmental community want the public to believe that Senator Feinstein’s proposed water plan will harm the environment. It won’t. It is a temporary measure to get emergency water supplies to areas of the Valley hardest hit by recent water supply cuts. At best farmers will still only get 40 percent of the water supplies they’re entitled to. That 40 percent is much less than the amount of water Westside farms were getting 20 years ago and at that time salmon and other fish were doing just fine. Isn’t it time the anti-ag folks admitted that there are other factors in the Delta that are harmful to fish and start doing something about them instead of continuing to bash farmers? |

What, exactly, is "corporate agriculture"? Is it a large, faceless entity with little regard for people or the environment? Not likely. Click Here or listen to the radio to meet one of California's "corporate" farmers.

Meet Kevin and Allison Hurd and learn how their family farm represents the thousands of "corporate" farms that make up the backbone of California agriculture.
