About California Farm Water Coalition

CFWC is a non-profit, educational organization formed in 1989 to provide fact-based information on farm water issues to the public. The organization works to help consumers, elected representatives, government officials and the media make the connection between farm water and our food supply.

CFWC provides balanced information regarding the economic, social and environmental benefits of irrigated agriculture.

Our Mission

The California Farm Water Coalition Board of Directors has identified three primary goals as part of its mission to increase public awareness of agriculture’s use of water and provide a common, unifying voice for agricultural water users.

  • To serve as the voice for agricultural water users.

  • To represent irrigated agriculture in the media.

  • To educate the public about the benefits of irrigated agriculture.

Our Cause

The California Farm Water Coalition was formed in 1989 in the midst of a six-year drought to increase public awareness of agriculture’s efficient use of water and promote the industry’s environmental sensitivity regarding water.
