Discussions leading to California's water future needs to include both a peripheral canal and safeguards for the delta. Editor,
You’re right in insisting that an aqueduct around the Delta be included in the stepped-up talks to prepare for a population increase that will swamp California’s ability to provide an adequate supply of water. You’re right, again, in calling for an assured flow of fresh water into the Delta. These and other issues must be part of the discussion. To do otherwise is foolish and ignorant of the seriousness facing our state.
